The Popular Show Campaign 4 Introduces the Soldiers Party

From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a colorful mix of personalities, and a exciting storyline featuring celestial beings, fiends, and malevolent powers expanding in influence within Dol-Makjar.

Heads-up: Revealing details for the latest installment of Campaign 4 follow below.

The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled

The third episode ended with a dramatic pause and revealed the initial group of heroes who will split off from the primary party to undertake their independent quest, apart from the additional parties.

The combat-focused team features Teor (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan (the actor).

Dividing the Cast

Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the beginning that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unworkable.

This explains, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, weaving together the individual narratives before branching into three separate parties: Warriors, Strategists, and Questers.

What Defines the Soldiers Table

As described by the DM, the Soldiers table is for players who enjoy a classically intense fight-heavy narrative style where peaceful solutions are rare.

Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might seem mismatched, but the actions of episode 3 make it clear why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.

Motivations for Departure

For one thing, the group understands precisely where to go next after a brutal initial meeting with the antagonists.

An old friend of Thjazi—whose passing initiated the narrative’s action—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the powerful objects to auction.

Casimir then settled his liabilities and escaped to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, above the city, with Cyd close behind.

Personal Motivations

Secondly, each character has a specific drive to depart the metropolitan area:

  • The rogue, as the companion and best friend, desires revenge.
  • Kattigan has experience in Timmony and advises that it is a dangerous environment.
  • The strong character and The healer, having defied his family’s wishes to execute the target and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
  • Yet, their reputation as important members in House Halovar could assist the party enter areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Additionally, The fighter pledged a life debt to Wicander for his deliverance and will now accompany him wherever.

Wanted and Hunted

Lastly, all of them are wanted by the rulers that govern Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city dangerous:

  • Thimble and The character are notorious outlaws.
  • Tyranny and The healer defied House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
  • Teor is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.

This results in them little choice but to head to the remote area in pursuit of the antagonist.

What’s Next?

Based on episode three’s post-show segment, we learn that the Soldiers table won’t be around the following episode, leaving the rest of the participants to round up the Explorers and Strategists groups.

Fans can look forward to discovering which adventurers will be where in the season’s last Overture episode, available to watch on October 24.
